We bring our community together through practical initiatives - from CCTV crowdfunding to free children's swimming sessions at the lido - working to make Saltdean a neighbourhood we're all proud to call home

Some Recent Projects

  • CCTV Installation at the Oval Park

Following persistent anti-social behaviour, we launched a crowdfunding campaign to install security cameras at Saltdean Oval Park. While we and Saltdean Tennis Club contributed to the costs, we still needed an additional £8,000. The community response was tremendous - residents rallied together and raised over £10,000, exceeding our target and demonstrating the power of our wonderful community.

  • Flowers - Lustrells Vale & Longridge Avenue

An initiative we launched this year to help spruce up our two main shopping areas with flowers on Lustrells Vale and Longridge Avenue.

  • Saltdean Party in the Park

    Funded Party in the Park

Established by Councillor Bridget Fishleigh, this popular annual event brings local residents together for a relaxed afternoon of music and community connection. Pack a picnic, enjoy performances by local musicians, and browse charity stalls showcasing the great work happening in our area.

  • Youth Activity Bus

We funded for a youth activity bus to come to Saltdean on dates during the summer holidays as part of a wider initiative to provide activities for children and young people to provide an alternative to anti social behaviour.

  • Three baby gull chic

Supported local bird and gull rescues

We supported the South Coast Bird/Gull Advice and Resource Forum who work with local vets and residents to help rescue and foster gull chicks and other birds who have been abandoned, separated from their parents or injured.

  • Children and adults enjoying the lido

Funded free swims for local children

Each year we fund a free early evening swimming session for local children and also put on a free BBQ for them and their parents. This year the event in September was fully booked and it was great to see some children and families there who may not otherwise have been able to afford to visit the Lido.
